SMD or DIP LED?
The DIP LEDs, Dual in Line Package, are cylindrical-shaped LEDs with a sphere finish in the upper part, which improves light dispersion. Inside, they contain a single cell with a semiconductor crystal that produces light when crossed by a direct current. Having only one cell, they can produce only one color (red, green or blue), so a pixel must consist of three DIP LEDs in the three different colors, soldered at a more or less close distance depending on the resolution to be obtained. and the viewing distance at which the LED screen will be placed.
The SMD LEDs, Surface Mount Device, have a rectangular shape and are composed of three cells each containing a different light diode. Three colors (RGB) in a single containment capsule welded onto the printed circuit. Depending on their size, they are classified with four-digit numbers indicating their length and height in tenths of a millimeter
